We weren't joking about this being the "best ride in the park"

(Yosemite National Park)

*grin*

The human factor not only provides scale but takes the viewer
right into the moment.....Another "Wow" capture.

An awesome view to say the least and the awe inspiring climbing photograph to take the breathe away of the viewer. I did a Google with your title and found a video of the climb... video or photograph the climb is awesome (there must be another adjective to describe this but this early in the morning all I can think of is awesome).

I guess when you know what you're doing and you have the guts to do it.
I commend you Paul, congratulations.

Paul, about 20 years ago my brother-in-law and some of his climbing friends talked anyone who was in the area into doing this traverse. It was on June 21st, so their goal was to get 21 people on the small area on the lost arrow spire. They were successful and one of the people they convinced to do it was a reporter for the San Francisco paper, who wrote up the story and it made the Sunday papers.

Some mighty big rocks!

Interesting story, Mo.

S, thanks for the link. I love their website! It's based on their goal of climbing all the routes in the book, 50 Classic Climbs in North America - a pretty lofty goal if you ask me (pun intended)!

Gossamer threads of life
span terminal chasm.
Trusted friends anchor the lifeline.

The chosen perspective,
the dramatic lighting,
the distant deep shadow,
the sharp spire,
and the rolling foreground emphasize

the seemingly bottomless abyss.

And the apparently tiny and tenuous life above it.

Marty's posture and George's position are both spot on.

Excellent illustration of a visually exhilarating moment.

I'm feeling acrophobic just looking at this photo! Excellent. I've spent a good portion of my leisure life camping and backpacking in Yosemite. Never was fortunate enough to catch someone in the act of doing this. Kudos to you. I would NEVER be able to do this...
