Bread for life

This man is cutting bread in small pieces to feed his animals. Your comments, as always, are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I remember as a young man buying loaves of cut bread to take to Stanley Park in Vancouver to feed to the ducks and other water birds... your image immediately brought that time to mind for me except that in this case we have someone who is really committed to the feeding of his animals. All the important elements of the image (the man's face, his hand, the knife and the bits of bread in the basket) are highlighted which works to create a sense of flow (no more than flow... a purpose to the task at hand).

I really like the highlights on the beard and hands, and the shadow play on the shirt.
