I like the contrast between the golden hue of the flower petals and the framing darkness which helps to make the flower stand out in the image.

There is the sense that something has been cloned on the right side of the flower (there is a round white spot which reminds me of a cloning spot).

Hi - thanks for your comments. My family are away for the weekend and have had a great day taking an awful lot of pics :)Excellent!
I see the spot you are talking about but I dont recall that this pic needed any cloning - some of the petals were wet - I think it is a small out of focus water drop.

.....although having had closer look - perhaps you are right. Ugh!

Nice, Steve. I think that it might have been a water droplet. I don't see where you would have cloned that light area from.(please excuse the preposition with no object!) I like that half-crown of sharp petals.

I like the sharpness on the front petals, the background, and the nice lighting. I like the viewpoint as well, but I would have prefer a viewing of the inside flower more.

Beautiful shot Steve - almost as if you had a light down inside the flower! Do you only take pictures when your family are away then!!
(I'm a U.K. contributor too!! - not many of us here)

Very nice !

You have come a long way in a very short time.

Don't hesitate to use enlargement and selection tools when you clone.
