Another of the characters from my local. I had to literally drag him to the window to get this
shot. I think he secretly liked it.

he should
very nice portrait

do you know how much that hat cost ?

Comments by Linda Frey on Tue, 03/03/09 14:05

And a good-looking character he is.

One wishes that you could have included all of the fellow's hat... I think that its inclusion would have added to the character of the fellow's features. The eyes work well with the included catchlights enhancing the portraiture for me.

Jan, I do have all the hat in one frame, but including the whole thing would necessitate
including more all around, which detracted greatly from the expression and his eyes,
so I chose the tightere frame.

Nice one.

glad the whole hat not in as the writing would of distracted.

There's enough hat to tell the story for anyone who knows the logo.
He'd probably say that it was free, a gift, but it was likely anything but ...

I'm not at all interested in the hat logo, so I think your choice of crop is a good one; any more of the hat, and it would become distracting.

Tim's buddy Rick. These guys have been coming to this bar since the 60's, and they fight like
an old married couple. Rick is the bar's fix-it guy.

This is Lance, Tim's rival in cribbage. They are champion trash talkers. Lance is happily
dating the ex-wife of Stanley, another regular you'll meet shortly.

All fine portraits. I am resisting the slight crop into the hair on the third. I would like more or less crop so that it looked more intentional.
