The picture is 1600x2400px! It is too much!
Besides it does not fit almost all monitors there is a big drawback: to be within 200K for a file size (limit on this site) you need decrease either DPI less than 72 or use jpg compress feature pretty low. Both cases bring the picture quality down.
I would recommend to keep the picture size max 900px in horizontal or 800px in vertical direction, which is bigger. These sizes are recommended to prepare pictures for the WEB in general.

Sensory overload!

Thanks Vlad...

This is a cool technique. I think it would make a great poster.

Excellent.

It's easy enough to Crtl - to reduce the size of the OP, as Alias pointed out a while ago. It's nice to see the detail at the larger size, too.

OP fits my monitor perfectly in width and an easy scroll lets me see it all.
Having to scroll some pix is a PIA but, somehow, it seems to fit this image well.
QL's concern may have been limited storage, but this entire file is off site so, no worries.

Times change, and the little CRTs that limited our ability to see are going or gone.
Big clear screens and wide band are here, and memory is now cheap.

For the first time we can really SEE well enough to critique a wide range of imagery effectively.
QL saw the need for larger pix and the current limits to store your pix on his site are 1024X900 and 200
(not accurately indicated on the home page as of now),
but I think he might prefer larger at this point.

There comes a time when those with limited equipment and no ability to fit a file to their screens should learn to adapt rather than
stand in the way of progress. I don't mean to sound harsh, but progress is inevitable and higher resolution is definitely a benefit to
the very purpose of this site.

Paul has gone around the limits of the site while stressing it as little as possible.
If we all did this the demands on the site's storage would become very small.

But there is a potential down side.
Unless Paul maintains his site his images will become unavailable and one of the features of this site will no longer function.
I enjoy the deep historical record here.

As to the image itself
The tiling is interesting and provides a little mental exercise while presenting a number of different aspects of the image effectively.

Thank you Paul for taking me along to places I will never be able to visit myself.

Another great joiner! I am interested to learn whether the trousered leg in the immediate foreground belongs to you Paul?

Amen Alias. I love these huge pix. And I like the patch method of presentation. Novel and interesting.

If too large for you, you can go to Page>Zoom, on the upper right of your screen, and choose a size so it will fit.

Another impressive collage. Always very interesting.
