Borring as hell

I love the sense of the standoff between the adult sheep and the lamb. Another visually pleasing image in this series. I particularly like the photograph when set against a black background color which helps to make the adult and lamb stand out in the picture.

Nice interaction/non-interaction, Ernest. The lamb seems to be wondering just how close to get, while the ewe is ignoring him.

Just wondering, is that one season's growth of fleece on the ewe? It's so much thicker than what I see on the sheep around here.

I love it.

(Linda, are they the same breed of sheep?)

I don't know for sure but I think it is one season's worth. They are anot the same breed. The lamb has a lot of Cotsweld in it but I don't think there is much in the ewe.

Perhaps you remember a scene from '07 called Vanilla in the Doorway. Vertical version has been my best ever selling print. People love it. Vanilla is pregnant and I hope to photograph her with her
lamb(s) if that happens. Ideally, in the doorway.

Oh, what I meant to ask was, is Linda comparing them breed to breed?...because, of course, different wools for different types...

Comments by Linda Frey on Sat, 05/30/09 17:11

Different breeds are probably why there is such a difference in fleece.

Lovely.

My daughter the other day saw some "white fluffy" bits in the field, we only have around 400 sheep over here on the Island, not often seen out, and living in Thailand prior, the poor little "lamb" didn't know what they were :@}}}

think i agree with linda more than jan on this one...the little sheep seems to have stopped dead in his tracks...like you're title says, whoops, YOU're not my MOM. The other one doesn't seem to really be giving a damn about the baby.
