Appropriately eerie feel evoked by the filters that you made use of with the picture. The spread of the branches of the barren tree, the derelict nature of the out buildings and the toning of the picture adds to that eerie feel for me.

Lots of great elements in this photo John. I feel that out building on the otherside of the tree with the peachy roof, hurts the image. Maybe down the road you might think about removing that building. ? You certainly have the elements for a great image here !!

Is this Infra Red Colour John?
It's a great shot - and I agree with Greg about that shed on the right.

Not liking the shed right either, but has some great elements. Would lose the green too on left and right, duo toning springs to mind.

Thanks for the good feedback! John, I was just playing with some plugin filters and sort of stumbled on to this effect. I doubt if I could even duplicate it exactly again!
I did some quick adjustments as requested and think there is improvement.

Right away its a big difference without that building. Maybe not ready for hanging on a wall, but perfect for an exploratory example. It is much easier to remove the unwanted stuff prior to going nuts on the filters. I would certainly keep the original and one day give it another go. Thanks for giving us another look at it, without the out-building. You know you could probably just go back and move that building out of the way, just hook it up to one of your farm trucks. :-)

I didn't notice the shed when I first looked at your posting but when Greg mentioned it I could not keep my eyes from drifting away from the out building under the tree to the shed. So much better visually while still retaining that eerie feel that makes the setting... and picture... come alive for me.

The shed doesn't bother me, although I guess the roof could be darkened a little. But then there's the other shed on the left, also with a bright roof. I'd just leave it as is.

I would have probably thought of cropping rather than removing the shed in photoshop, if you really wanted the shed out of shot. It looks as though the hill has been cloned in (where the shed was) and is quite soft in that area. I think when your image is at the original size (not reduced for the forum), it may show up quite a bit and spoil the look of a nice image.

perhaps it could be cropped a bit tighter even??

:-)This has to be Fairyland! Works quite fine for me.
