Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Wed, 06/04/08 08:29 I like the abstractive feel of the two images in the comment section with the inclusion of the white railing. A black background works particularly well with the toning of the three images while at the same time helping to enhance the detailing to be found in each of the pictures. Comments by Linda Frey on Wed, 06/04/08 18:11 I like the look of the pier in the OP. I wonder if you tried a shot without the concrete piece? Comments by Maria Salvador on Wed, 06/04/08 18:41 Although the others are nice too, I especially like the balance and colors of the last one. More appealing to my eye, may be also because of the simplicity of the lines. Comments by G.B. SHETTLER on Wed, 06/04/08 20:16 For me, I think the OP is an Excellent Photograph !! one of your best. I love the line of the pier into the whiteness of the right side and the curve in the distant waters and with the weight of the foreground cement line and the evident movement in the water, the image has a very nice look and feel to it !! Comments by John Long on Fri, 06/06/08 10:11 The OP is a great shot Rory (except for the horizon going down to the right!) - nice atmosphere. Comments by Dennis Hancock on Sat, 06/07/08 09:19 I like these images of the pier but I think the OP is super with the detail in the water showing through nicely. Just straighten up the horizon slightly as John suggests. Comments by Rory Hudson on Sat, 06/07/08 21:25 Thank you for the above comments. Actually the horizon is straight, as you will notice if you see how the posts are vertical, but it appears curved because of the wide angle and because at far right it disappers into mist. I rather liked that, as suggesting the faraway curvature of the earth! Comments by Julie M. Dant on Sun, 06/08/08 15:36 Rory I like the OP and think it is the most interesting of the photos for sure. The 1st in comments is also very good to me. I like it's strength. It seems to me that the right hand posts are leaning a bit to the right..but it may be an optical illusion. At any rate. The shots are good stuff, IMO. ;0) |
