Tinderry Range

The Tinderry range is near Canberra, Australia. I was there over Easter. Took a drive in late afternoon when it was stormy - the best time for photos!

A different and original landscape. Puts me in mind of the Brooks and Dunn song "Red Dirt Road".

I really like landscapes such as this with a road wandering through the setting and disappearing over a far hill... bringing a sense of anticipation to the mind of the viewer... either as to what is to be seen over the next hill or what might be coming over that hill. There is a visual balance created in the picture between that of the landscape and the cloudy sky portion. One could imagine that driving on that roadway in a rainstorm would be a trying experience.

The road and the valley just draw you in, and in, and in. Love the grass color, did you have to push it a bit? (Not complaining, wondering what it was like.)

Thanks folks... jj, the colours are pretty much as they were, this is due to the fact that it was late afternoon with that great glow that one gets at that time. The grass was all dry due to a drought we are having over here, and the effect of a very hot summer.

The tree in the background makes the compostion of the photo.

This has everything going for it - the colorful, irregular dirt road, the changing scenery along the way and finally, that wonderful sky, full of texture and shapes.

Very interesting composition. I really like the saturated colours and the contrast between the golden yellow foreground and the blue sky. Well done!

Ditto most of the above. I might have moved forward (feet or zoom) enough to eliminate most or all of the road turning right to take better advantage (closer) of the grasses. And either a little wider focal length if available or move slightly right to take in the fence on the left unless there's something objectionable over there.

Love the clouds, and the lines in this. The colour doesn't hurt either! The tree is a nice exclamation mark.
