387 DELTA

This was taken at Clarksdale, on my first trip to the Mississippi delta. It is Morgan Freeman's blues club/juke joint. I used the Salt and Pepper filter and saved it without keeping the original file. I had no idea I'd be kicking myself later. ;0( I live and learn.

In B/W.

Better in B&W after that filter (Yuk) was applied -- The image also is rotated a little and needs probably 1 degree CCW (I haven't checked) to correct.
Shoot in RAW and then apart from all of the other multitudinous advantages over jpg (we can discuss via email if you want), you can't overwrite the original file.

Did you get a "time machine" for Xmas Julie? I'm a b/w fan but for some strange reason I think the color works better. I either read or saw an interview with him and he talked about his "Blues club". I thought it would be something fancy. This town looks totally abandoned. Great photograph.

We share a common problem Julie; namely, working on an image and then forgetting to save the original image. I like the salt and pepper effect in color (I have to keep playing around with the setting in the effect to achieve the end result I want and so I should be saving those original images and not hoping that I will be completely satisfied with the first run through of a given effect.

I love the OP! Wonderful colors and I like your treatment. I agree with Luis--great photograph!

I wonderful slice of Delta life. I like both versions, and particularly like the artsy, iompressionist effect of the S&P treatment. It doesn't need rotation, but it does need perspective correction on the left side to straighten the verticals.

Sounds like ya have the Blues. Salt n Pepper Blues, baby. Nice photo to see. Nice outdoors furniture, I am sure the bugs must love it ! (and always shoot in RAW if you camera can do so)

Cool shot! I enjoy the history also. I had no idea that Morgan Freeman was involved with music in any way. I have to agree, though, I would probably prefer the original version. I do a lot of shooting in RAW mode, and find it to be a very useful tool. Like most tools, there are times when it is needed and appropriate, and times when it is not.

I like the mottled look from the filter, too. Now that chimney-thing, stove, whatever, seems to spoil my view (although it would give some needed heat on cool evenings). Don't suppose you could have nudged it out of the way? Guess not.

This is a bit querky. I like several aspects. The shaded building and the bright red one in the sun. The chimney-thing (thanks for enhansing my vocabulary Linda) is somewhat in the wrong place I'd have to say. Perhaps the bloke moving it in (or out) is asleap on one of the couches. It hurts the design a bit as is and if you could go back and re-shoot, it might be gone.
BTW, Morgan Freeman is not just a jazz enthusiast. He's also an avid pilot. 8-)
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Always glad to be of help, Rick. I know there is a word, similar to chimney, but I couldn't pull it out of the dark recesses of my brain.

(pot belly stove)

Very nice Julie. Makes me want to go to the place and hear some great music.

Pot belly stove works, Karen, but I was trying to think of the word chimneria. Same thing, I think.

this has so much charm and personality-the stove thing does not bother me the way it is placed as it all has a natural flow to it-love the filter effect, too...don't worry about the original-you have a great shot with the OP here

Great shot; works for me. Love the colored salt and pepper effect.

The color version for me. Really very nice, and especially very interesting.
