Ruth, I really like this one, the pure white of the ice and the cream othe bear cub as he heads towards what I presume is a cave make a well contrasting image

I'm always sympathetic toward those little ones. Too bad his habitat is concrete rather than Arctic ice. Still he probably enjoys the good care I'm sure he is receiving and he (or she, of course) is certainly very appealing and well framed here.

totally and literally cool! or as is sed: "kewl"...
excellent compositional balance and separation of similar tones. this was a challenge technically. i would however prefer a white mat.

Striking capture of the young polar bear... such a sense of the wild in these creatures that no zoo can wash that sense away. I feel envious of the Toledo Zoo (or for that matter any other zoo) that has these beautiful creatures on display (I would rather seem the polar bear free in the wild) but there are many of these bears that come to zoos as little babies when their mother has been killed). Here in the heart of the polar bear province we don't have any worthwhile facilities for the lone polar bear we have and until we get our zoo renovated we will probably have to either visit Churchill or nearly any other large zoo in the world to see the polar bear.

Nice contrast of the cream of the bear and the white of the stone. It's a good composition, too.

Nice off center design. The bear even has a place to "go".

Like the creme on white and the grey colors of your post. Even though the little fella is in captivity, he has wonderful home compared to the polar bears we used to see when I was a child at our nearest small zoo. Even as a child I knew they were way too thin, they were always dirty looking and they had only man made rock to move around on. I don't recall ever seeing them in the small pool of water they had. The absolutely worst thing was seeing them walking back and forth swinging their heads up and back down in such a repetitive motion. That's is all they did. I knew, then, that there was something wrong with this behavior but now I know they were just mentally damaged beyond repair. It was so sad. Thank goodness laws have changed!

The image has overgrown a lot the importance of the subject.
