chirping for his supper

There are far too many cats in our neighbourhood for this little guy to be out chirping for his food. He can fly a little. I hope it's enough to avoid the cats.

The clarity of detailing, the contrast between the little robin and the background, and the pose all work hand in hand to create a pleasing image of the cute little robin waiting to be fed.

very nice linda....are you using a super zoom here, or is it cropped?
Seems like he is taking up a good portion of your fram for such a small bird

I was using my 200mm IS with 2X tele, Danny, maybe fifteen feet away from the little bird. I might have gotten a bit closer, but I didn't want to spook him.

I did crop a bit to remove some branches on the left, and some of the canoe at the bottom.

Very nice, sharp, & good detail. We had 3 little robins in a nest by our house this year. Whenever I'd walk out back the mother would fly away, the babies were somewhat temperamental. And really really ugly, I never took any pics. When they were big enough to fly they didn't stay around long enough for me to film them.

Good catch Linda !
Looks like the little guy needs some tail feathers.

Really nice capture of a cute little chick. As Christopher said, excellent use of shallow DoF.
