A Pond in the Sky

D80, Handheld.

Another one from the Uinta. The pond we intended to camp at turned out to be
a damn and wasn't really too beautiful. One end was filled with these flooded
bushes that were quite interesting. I could have spent half a day there. As it was,
I took two shots and we moved on.

999 out of 1000 people wouldn't give this a glance hikng past the lake. Glad you stopped Mark. It's very different and excellent.

a very nice vision.

There is a strong enough sense of sky in the reflective water to help carry the feeling of the bushes as floating through the sky. I find the image works particularly well in my mind when it is set against a black background.

The thumbnail didn't look very interesting, but in fact this is indeed very effective, mostly I think as a result of the colour and arrangement of those stones.

Great photo! The plant looks alive and scary.

If I squint slightly, if really looks as if the plant in the water is a wild looking tree growing out of a high rocky cliff, with the sky as a backdrop. Like something out of Wuthering Heights.
I love it, you could guess. ;0)
