The Further Adventures of Stella The Frog Dog
Comments by Art Sands on Thu, 02/08/07 22:23 Aye mates, twas a cold morning and that scurrilous rufian Cam Shira and his gang of six (The ColdAires) was sneaking up on the castle......the fog was drifting in from the moors.......fortunately Stella the Mighty was alert and warned us of the impending attack....the drawbridge over the moat was raised just in time. Comments by Ruth Rittichier on Thu, 02/08/07 22:33 Great BG for Stella. Nicely composed. I don't think she really wants to go out there. You might want to get rid of the triangle in ULC. Comments by Vladimir Vorobeychik on Thu, 02/08/07 22:48 Excellent work! Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Thu, 02/08/07 22:59 I really like the contrast between the snowy landscape and Stella's coloring which works to make her stand out strongly in the image and just the nature of her pose... as if saying: "If you want me to go out there you had better put down that camera and get a leash and take me for a walk." Comments by Dave Lavash on Fri, 02/09/07 06:13 Very well done. There must be many great shots out there in the woods. (That bit of red in the colar helps, too) Comments by Julie Christiansen on Fri, 02/09/07 07:58 Great contrast, looks cold and I love it. Comments by Art Sands on Fri, 02/09/07 15:16 Thanks everyone - Good suggestion Ruth re cropping: (lightened up the image a bit also)
Comments by Jeff Dye on Fri, 02/09/07 16:02 I'd continue on with some cropping. The wire basket on the right could go. If you don't mind losing some of the woods you could make this a vertical by cropping just inside the large tree to the right of the dog. If you still want the big tree you lose a little at the top cropping out the basket. A very nice scene however you leave it. Comments by Linda Frey on Fri, 02/09/07 18:22 I hope she's not thinking about jumping. And if not, maybe she should have some boots on for better grip. Wouldn't want her to fall. ;-) Comments by Tony Scheuhammer on Fri, 02/09/07 18:49 regardless of the dog (who does looks nice, don;t get me wrong), I hope you got out and shot some serious stuff; those trees look absolutely gorgeous! Comments by Rory Hudson on Fri, 02/09/07 19:05 I think the rework improves it, but I wouldn't do any more cropping than that. Very good capture. Comments by Roger on Fri, 02/09/07 19:06 Stella looks great and so does the image and that great view, I like the posted image best. Comments by Maria Salvador on Sat, 02/10/07 07:15 I like the darker version, but I think I agree about the crop. Very nice all around. Comments by Garry Schaefer on Sat, 02/10/07 14:50 I think the mighty Stella is perpexed by the change in scenery and is going to WIMP out rather than charging forth to protect the castle. The crop is a plus. The tones come out a bit better on my monitor as tweaked. Good shot! Comments by jacques barbier on Sat, 02/10/07 14:54 She looks like she's been standing there for a while, :-)... Comments by Richard Dong on Sat, 02/10/07 15:03 Frog dog? I had visions of a amphibian sausage on a bun.
Comments by Julie M. Dant on Sat, 02/10/07 15:37 I think she is sad because there are no frogs..:0) Really like this post.
Comments by Art Sands on Sat, 02/10/07 16:43 Thanks everyone for the comments - good PSing Julie - that does take away the distraction of the basket - I had thought about cropping it out but the woods add to the shot.
