I find the pelican to be a very photogenic bird that works well both in color and a b&w format. I like the opening shot with all the pelicans in apparent preening poses with the contrast between their white plumage and the bluish hue of the water helping to make the birds stand out strongly in the image.

"A wonderful bird is the Pelican, its bill can hold more than it's belly can." Bruma Shave{-)

The flock decided to visit in Green Bay especially for you Ruth!
I love Bob's quote!!

Wonderful light in the OP, Ruth. They are too busy preening to pose for the group photo, but it makes a fine shot anyway.

I always thought that poem was by Ogden Nash, Bob, but apparently it is by Dixon Lanier Merritt. I wonder if Burma Shave had to pay to use it? ;-)

Adding Bruma Shave was my idea. I do that often as I'm old enough to remember all those Bruma Shave signs along the roads.

I remember signs like that, but they probably weren't Burma Shave. More likely some copycat.

What a beautiful pelicans' population, Ruth... :)
You caught them well.

So pleasing strip.
