I like your composite image merging the grain and the highrise images... works to capture the sense of what many modern cities in the Prairies are based on namely the harvest of grain over the past century or more. Without the grain there would not have been the initial structures on the right and possibly the highrise structures on the left would never have materialized into modern day reality.

Your name was not the first in my head as this opened.

I like it a lot, the segmentation works well both individually and as a whole. The colour b/w also helping.

Looks like you had a good teacher.

Yup, John is definitely in this picture somewhere.

Miss you buddy, big time...

G.B., though I have been taking SLR photos for a long time I am a digital beginner. I view this site almost daily and comment occasionally. I would comment more, but other than complimentary remarks I have little useful input. This is a stunning composition. I like it as much or more than anything I have seen so far. Don't ask me why... all I know is I like it. Ditto all of the above... I think. (Sorry for the blank post.)

My apologies for the triple post
not sure if it's my end or the Pc server

Tommy,

As with most genuine art,
there is more to this image tan meets the eye.

Cool comp, Greg. Urban rural, old new, organic inorganic. Probably others... (colour B&W)

hey Greg, looks good! I like the concept a lot. Seems unfinished to me though. Here are some thoughts (not finished either, but you get the idea).

You know Tony, I love that you have been playing with my photos. It feels so nice to have no qualms whats so ever over anything that you are going to do or say. Probably because I know that you and John had such a good connection. With my own respect for you, I also honor John's respect for you. And this type of interaction (messing up my photos)is probably good for this site. I had been thinking of just extending the right side walls more into the photo, but like your example a square section would have been produced on that side. Your central join does help to balance that problem off. I decided to leave it as my intent was to produce an open sort of hallway within Time. Are you trying to hold back Time, Tony. GoodLuck !

Comments by Tony Scheuhammer on Tue, 10/16/07 18:06

yup, trying my best ... with mixed success. :)

I guess I mainly wanted to suggest that the blending process seemed unfinished; too much of a 'cut-and-paste' look in a few spots. How you blend the elements is, of course, totally up to you. My ideas are just one possible suggestion.

Glad you aren't bothered by my putzing around with your images!

This is wonderful, Greg. Love the composite.

Nice idea. And I also like what Tony did to it.
