Winter ride
Comments by Joseph Liftik on Sun, 04/01/07 14:03 great shot with a painterly feel. I'd crop off a bit from the bottom , maybe to the men hole
Comments by Ruth Rittichier on Sun, 04/01/07 14:04 Agree with Joseph. A wonderful photo, but I wouldn't want to be there. Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Sun, 04/01/07 14:15 I would agree with this image and if I didn't know better one have thought that you took this picture today down at the Forks in Winnipeg... the weather is the same as in the your picture. I like the paintlike quality of the image with the contrasting colors of the horse and carriage and that of the colors of the flags and the background building. I wonder if the rider ever got a ride... Comments by Tamara Jaffe on Sun, 04/01/07 15:59 Great image...it has a bit of a dream-like tinge to it. Comments by Mark Rothwell on Sun, 04/01/07 17:46 An excellent image. I agree with the crop suggestion, or another alternative would be to clone out the manhole cover. Comments by Linda Frey on Sun, 04/01/07 18:02 Couldn't you have straightened the Canada flag before shooting? ;-)
Comments by Rory Hudson on Mon, 04/02/07 07:16 It makes me feel cold just looking at it! Very good shot, though I agree with others re a crop, as there is too much foreground. Comments by Maria Salvador on Mon, 04/02/07 17:07 Patience, is the feel strongly conveyed to me! Ditto Joseph and Ruth on this one. Comments by G.B. SHETTLER on Mon, 04/02/07 19:09 Great scene Alex. (Hopefully you weren't sitting in you Lexus with heated seats.) :-) Comments by Alex Uporin on Mon, 04/02/07 19:48 All - thanks for great comments! It feels good to be back to my favorite site. And, no - I was not sitting in a car. I was already all wet after day of skiing , but could not let this opportunity to pass by...
Comments by Tony Scheuhammer on Tue, 04/03/07 13:52 Nicely different, with all the wet snow coming down! I particularly like the patterns of light and partial reflections in the wet street. Comments by Garry Schaefer on Wed, 04/04/07 22:28 I have some sympathy for the suggestion of cropping from the bottom. It puts the horse and carriage in a better position in the frame. But then I look again at the reflection on the street in the fg and don't like the thought of losing that. Hmm...certainly a good shot. It captures the feel of the wet, sleety conditions so well. |
