The contrast between that of the water lily and the darkened nature of the water and the lily pads works to make the water lily stand out strongly in the image. The clarity of detailing and the sense of texturing add to the visual impact of the picture.

Nice job , Ruth. Good light and excellent comp. A teeeeeny bit hot on
the ends of the peddles but nothing to really complain about IMO.

Sal, I checked the petals, and there were only several 255 pixels, in the very edge of a couple of petals, but that's all. Do the ends look blown out on your screen?

This flower appears to have its own light source. Love the delicacy of the pinks.

Very pretty colors. I like the lighting on the lily. If it were mine I would clone out the dirty specks in the water.

Hi Ruth. Looking at it again on my screen at home and the petals look just right.
