We have them here in NS but I've never been able to get a good shot as they are very quick and keep their distance. With the details you provided I now understand how you were able to get this fantastic shot. Well Done. Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Fri, 12/03/10 08:48 I like the contrast between the White-breasted Nuthatch and the muted nature of the background serves to make the little bird stand out strongly in the image, the contrast in texturing between the plumage of the Nuthatch and the roughness of the bark, and just the nature of the little bird's pose (it's head thrown back in song perhaps). It was far enough away that it made for a pretty good background. This was taken at my campsite in at Wichita Mt. I wasn't expecting this visitor but I didnt' waste any time changing subjects and recomposing. :)
