Time Benders

I shot the interior of this place one summer after walking through tall grass and water. Winter is always easier with a Jeep. I have a cropped color version, but I like this B&W with the open left side better.

This image works particularly well with a black background which works to enhance the detailing to be found both with the deserted homestead and the scrub brush while at the same time creating an edge to the image and stopped off the eye of the viewer from wandering out of the lightness of the image into the white of background page. I particularly like the finely crafted pencil drawing feel of the composition. One almost expects to see an eagle or owl perching in the top limbs of the barren tree on the right.

I adore this photo, and I agree that the black background does wonders but I feel like maybe
there should be a little more contrast of the lest side. Perhaps it the grass on the path was
sharpened a bit it would look a bit less gray and blend just a bit better with the right side.
But otherwise it's a spectacular photo.

Terrific scene, well captured and starkly beautiful.

Love it! I'm wondering what special sauce you used to achieve this look as of an etching (crisp lines, almost no mid tones).
