Warm west winds over the Rockies form an arch of cloud above
the Prairie.

These shots are my first efforts using a graduated filter.

I'm sitting trying to decide which image I like the most but I find both of them appealing. I like the muted fall colors of the second image along with the sense of vastness that is evoked by the perspective that you adopted for the photograph. In the opening picture the sky has a stronger presence while the grain bins give a more definite sense of place to the picture. In either case I would imagine the Chinook was welcome in bringing above normal temperatures to southern sections of Alberta.

You did it again, Barry....beautiful Alberta scenes...both of them are great but I prefer the second one because of the more natural setting...

I don't know if a chinook was responsible, but Edmonton was getting 17 degrees while we were getting snow and freezing temps a few days ago.

Nice shots. I like your use of the filter, as it is very subtle.

Nice shots! I like the composition of the second post better. The patterns in the fields help, too.

There is so many elements in the second photo - How could it NOT be my favorite! The way you played with the lines in this photo is stunning. Well done!

Both of these are my favorites of your work by far.

I'll be the contrarian today. I love the first, just because of the stark contrast between the
harsh man made structures and the smooth nature that surrounds it. Beautiful Barry.
