Man and Beast

These slot canyons are incredible despite the somewhat arduous and sandy trek. This part is quite deep. I have angled the camera toward the ceiling.

The colors created by the available lighting, the sense of texturing that comes through from the canyon walls, and the sense of depth that is created by the varying colors works to create a truly eyecatching image of the canyons.

WOW! Incredible shot--well worth the effort the get there, I suspect. Thanks for sharing it.

Very good capture of the varying degrees of light. The dark tones show a lot of detail and texture and the highlights are just right. There is a place near here where I plan to take some similar photos. Any suggestions? (drtmcgee@scottsboro.org)

So much for $5000+ digi cameras. Beautiful photograph you can be proud of. I may be in the area in a couple of weeks although I don't know if early Nov. is a safe time to be down in the slots.

Beautiful image. I'm guessing this is "Antelope Canyon?" The first time I saw photos of Antelope some 25 years ago I was told it was off limits and the Indians were discourging photographers from going in there. Now they charge you to park, then pay for the first hour and pay extra to stay for a second hour. Boy how times have changed.

Jeff, they say Summer is a better time to be at Anyelope because the sun is higher and you get more light. With todays cameras and higher ISO's I don't know if that's that much of a problem. If it's raining they will not let you go into "Lower Antelope" after the flooding and deaths 5 or 6 years ago.

Just gorgeous ... I love the contrast between the foreground coolness, and the lovely warmth of the rest.

I decided to refresh myself with your images and remember seeing this one and loving it, but I see I didn't get a comment made. So here it is. This is just a superb image, Rick. Wow.
