Old covered bridge, no longer in use near Seymour, Indiana

Original photo was in color..white boring sky..added blue sky with touch of clouds...changed it to grayscale. Reduced the gamma. I believe that is all....Oh yes. cloned a bit of the vines into the sky, removed a guard rail, and rubbed out the last two letters of the graffiti on the left...leaving it proclaiming to the world that Misty is a Who. Maybe I took this when I passed thru Whoville. Can't remember. ;0)

Did you lie on your tummy to get this? anyway, good idea to shoot from a low angle. Also to put those clouds in. You have a good sense of depth in this image, and tones are well controlled.

Great low POV works well to highlight the structure of the covered bridge and the nature of the roadbed. the misty sky works to eliminate distractions.

I like the perspective that you adopted for this photograph shooting from the floor level of the covered bridge, the use of the covered bridge to serve as a framing for the distant view, and the moody feel that is evoked by the viewpoint that you took which gives an airy expansive feel to the image.

i find the most compelling part of this image is how the bridge opens into sky and clouds that looks foggy which adds mystery. Great angle. Nice work (and hard work, it sounds like).

Julie, I like your photo a lot. The low perspective from on the floor really helps make this
picture something special. I also like that I can see all the details inside the bridge.

This bridge floor just hooks viewer`s eye and pulls it right out of the bridge.

Great photo Julie. love those lower cross boards in that wonderful light. Good add in, with the sky, just needs the snow capped mountain in the distance :-)

The low viewpoint and the way it opens to the misty sky creates in my mind a strong feel of mystery and danger. Very nice B&W and very well worked overall!

It does have a dangerous look. Maybe there is nothing but cloud at the end of the bridge.

Great light.

Great comp with the POV. Leaving the opening with just a hint of clouds adds an element of tension and wondering what's out there. Nice work, and the b/w is right on.
