I'm trying out a little Pentax camera (Optio A30) that I won in a local photo/calendar contest. It seems to do a pretty good job. It should be a good pocket camera for those times when the big camera seems too big.

The Death of Summer - nice shot Linda.

Beautiful image of sunflower in the ice... :)
I also have a Pentax Optio E40, which makes really beautiful shots (and
it is so handy to carry...).

Belle image de tournesol dans la glace... :)
J'ai aussi un Pentax Optio E40, ce qui rend photos vraiment belles (et
il est si pratique pour transporter...).

The passing of the seasons... especially striking image when the picture is set against a black background. The camera has provided you with a lot of fine detailing along the stem of the sunflower.

Nice angular composition. I'm intrigued with its captured heat melting the snow below. Congrats on your new camera. They're great for unexpected finds.

The flower head melting the snow seems so delicate like summer remembered - good capture

The browns and the blues go nice together.

I love this, Linda!
Rotated left and flipped horizontal after that gives the image a lot of energy.
: )

I have to respectfully disagree with all of the above comments. I know I probably just committed a PC suicide!

All I see here is a dead sunflower face down in ice. That's all I see. I'm sorry Linda!

It's kind of poignant. But mostly cold, winter is far too long in Alberta.

Kept meaning to comment on this one ...

When it opened, strains of :

"I can't believe your song is gone so soon.
I barely learned the tune
So soon
So soon. "

played in my head.
(The song wasn't about FLR either.)

The crystalline "halo" makes this for me.
