Love the panorama. I'm too old to climb like that. :)

:-)Hi Paul!
It is a beautiful view from up there, and a great panorama. Cold but beautiful.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too.

Love the panorama.
Guess you got tired of the Gunks or maybe not enough snow there for Christmas.
Be careful, have fun and happy Holidays.

Thanks for a year of sharing pano views we'd not otherwise ever see. Have a safe and blessed Christmas.

Lovely wintry pano. You're just missing a white fluffy pom-pom on your helmet to be even more seasonal. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you too, Paul! Looks cold!

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
May your rope be strong and footing sound.
Don't get a chill and fall off that hill !!
And if you off the Hill, don't utter a sound
Just protect your camera until you hit the ground
(hey I like that...copywrited GB Shettler - Ha)

Thanks everyone!

This was an in-camera panoramic shot taken along the Kancamagus Highway, a scenic byway that passes through the heart of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It was taken during my "End Of The World Ice Climbing Adventure"

The second shot is a dual portrait/self portrait (that little speck at the end of the rope is my friend Jeremy) that was taken from the top of the third pitch of Pinnacle Gully, a classic New England ice climb that has eluded me for about 25 years. We were fortunate to top out in beautiful, near windless conditions (hence the lack of any need for a new ear) and managed to do the route from car to car in fourteen and a half hours.

Oddly enough, on the morning of Dec 21 we woke up to find there was no power and it seemed, for about as long as it took to come up with the thought, that the end of the world might have been upon us!

In any case, we were able to eek out a few extra days of ice climbing as winter weather followed us from the White Mountains to the Adirondacks - an excellent way to round out 2012, even if it's not the end of the world.

Best wishes to everyone this Holiday Season, and...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

All the best to you Paul also -

It's been a fun group of online friends - just checked and I first posted here in Jan 2001.
