I am trying to beat Jan before he makes a comment. This is 4 photos blended together. Hi Jan ! notice that I have made Portage Avenue a 4 lane street going one way, in half the street.

If you don't mind I think I will save this image of Winnipeg along
Portage Avenue. It must have been taken some time in the past since the
building on the left has had some facade renovation in the last year and
the sign on the right for Dominion News has moved south across
Portage... I like this image... a real sense of downtown Winnipeg for
me if one chooses to move off the main drag and get into some of the
back streets and alleys.

You realize that all is not normal here, Jan. I have removed the Radisson Hotel from the photo and half of what appears to be Portage Ave is actually the Gary street side. That is what used to be the Garry Theater now sitting on my revamped Portage Ave. I am not sure where you are seeing the Dominion News sign ? These shots were taken in 2005. I try to shoot 1 day or 2 days in the Winnipeg each year. I did not shoot any in Winnpeg in 2009. THanks: Greg

No I didn't realize all was normal with your combination image. I
should remember the Garry Theatre... used to go there all the time when
I first came to Winnipeg in the 70s... it became a cinematic hangout for
me. I thought the red/blue sign above the Transit bus on the lower edge
was the Dominion News sign from the old days but obviously not since the
News moved across Portage before 2005.

Great! A beautiful composite image. A different view of Winnipeg from Jan's photos, and surely a very interesting one.

Love the look of this composite, Greg. That looming wall adds ambiguity!

Mmmm...very interesting...not used to seeing these kinds of pieces.

The four images sit well together and obviously for you guys who know the city, it all makes sense. It must have been fun to re-arrange Winnipeg Greg!!

Great perspective...the main wall seems to stop you in your tracks, but then you see the actual tracks continuing into the picture
