Assiniboine Park Zoo, Winnipeg, Mb.

I took this picture at the Toucan Ridge enclosure at Assiniboine Park Zoo May 12, 2012. I was trying to get some pictures of the flamingos inside the enclosure when their keeper herded the birds outside to allow for a cleaning of their enclosure. I was shooting this flamingo when a slight breeze lifted the feathers and created the sense of a pink exotic flower.

The only family of ducks that I've spotted so far this Spring at the Forks.

With our zoo undergoing renovation it is often times difficult to find former resident birds and animals. Finally found the snowy owls.

Good catch of all the birds. I like the last 3 images the best. Sweet little ducklings and nice pose of the last mallard...;-)

Nicely done Jan, I like the owl, I would have cropped his perch a tad
more.

Really nice work. I love the pink Flamingo it reminds me of an extremely extravagant hat my mother once bought for a family wedding - superb image.

Hi Jan, nice capture on all of the images. I would have like if the ducklings were just a little sharper.

Love the colour and sharpness of the flamingo's feathers. The others are great, too. Maybe the ducklings could be sharper, but it seems to me it's a difficult thing to do. They are so fluffy, it makes them look soft even when they are in focus.
