I find myself wanting a tad more room on the right, but very nice nonetheless.

An interesting triangular flow created between the flower and the two houses which draws the eyes of this viewer in a continual loop. The contrast between the two structures and the flowers helps to make these three elements stand out strongly in the image. What is the location of this lighthouse?

How could anyone find anything wrong with this photo??? I am sincere about this question. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this photo IMO but maybe that's due to my lack of experience. Barry, if it means anything, I love this shot! A++++! Great Light, Great DOF, Great Comp, JUST GREAT!!! Even the picnic table in the BG is sharp as a knife (Which I am so happy you left in the shot)!

Thanks all for your comments - they are appreciated. Jan - this is
Cabrillo Point Lighthouse @ 45300 Litehouse Rd, Mendocino, CA 95460 -
the Google Earth image of this area is not too detailed.

Very nice place indeed, Barry... :)

Very nice, Barry. My first thought was that it was a church, until I noticed it had a light instead of a steeple.

Most unusual flowers, growing up out the dry grass. Being curious, I consulted Google to find that they bloom in August. ( Actual wording 'flowers naked ladies'. ;-)

What a beautiful trio! Amaryllis Belladonna is indeed a strange and beautiful flower. Ours are a paler pink - but all are beautiful.

This is one Heck of an image. I've spent considerable time viewing it and the only thing I can say is the white fence on the right tends to lead the viewer out of the frame. I wondered what it might look like if the image were flipped 180 degrees. Once I did, the white fence now leads you into the frame. Also, the road to the lighthouse now leads from left to right. Since lighthouse is the larger subject, it tends to hold the viewer in the frame. Just my thoughts.

What a wonderful image! I like Bob's flipped version as well.

Barry, after sleeping on this I think I now know why I like this image so much. It reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth painting. Maybe the tone of the grass or the simplicity, but it deserves to be printed and hung on your wall. Great catch.

Those flowers are beautiful, they look lonesome even though they are in a bunch. They are very strangely beautiful. Love the colors!
