An attention grabbing picture because of the simple composition. The trees are a good visual anchor. I tried cropping out the heavy cloud mass at the top of the frame and liked the result.

I had not thought about the heavy cloud mass until I read Trevor's comments and I tried it and I find also that the resulting picture is equally striking. I find that colors of the sky and the combination wheat canola field work particularly well set against a black background.

GREAT shot, Jim! And I tend to agree with the crop. Gorgeous clouds, aren't they?

Very nice. You could maybe deepen the blue of the sky with a polarizer?

Comments by Jim E on Thu, 04/09/09 05:54

Yep, you are right - had a polariser sitting in the bag. Too late now!

Very refreshing view. No bush fires around there, I guess.
