I like the combination of the two images... creates the sense of the derelict building daydreaming of days from its past life. A grey background works well with the colors of the sky as well as that of the building.

Wow! A ramshackle edifice and its tormented, ghosly past all yellowing with age.

Awesome!! So well put together, to make a cool story!! I love the big window in the sky!

Very nicely done. I like it because it's very subtle.

Nice work.

I especially like the reference to Obama's call to action...

agree with Paul

In the old days, when a building became so decrepit and infested with vermin that it was no longer salvageable, neighbors would gather to watch and control destruction,
and the fire was lit from the outside in, so as to trap and destroy rats, mice, and other pests before they could flee to the fields and infest other farms.

it is past time to move on

Nicely done, Greg. Good that you are making use of the pictures of that peculiar house. I've never seen a house like that, unless maybe it was a church or school at one time.

I think John would have heartily approved of this...

I don't know about that Richard, this is not really the type of composite that I want to do. I hope this prints better then what shows here. By the way Richard, that Prairie area where I we drove around endlessly, it apparently has a regional gallery and they would like to pencil me in for a show thru January. NOt on prairie scenes, but with my photos of old houses. Guess I have to start printing again.

This has grown on me big. I like the duality of it, and it's light-handedness. That little tree on the far right is the most.

Comments by G.B. SHETTLER on Thu, 10/02/08 18:49

Thank you so much Chris & Ross ! It is actually the trees that I like the most in this photo, but at this size and with sharpenning and with the SRGB conversion the image does not look as good as the unsharpened TIFF and the look the trees have, is completely lost at this size. But we post what we post.

I love the double image and the overall processing. It is a very powerful image.
