Comments by Jan Bjorklund on Fri, 02/11/11 14:16 I like the vertical placement of the amaryllis blooms... works to create the sense of the flowers melting and dripping as if wax from a candle. The contrast between that of the amaryllis blooms and the white background helps to make the blooms stand out strongly (even in their fading stage) in the image. Comments by Sandi MacDonald on Fri, 02/11/11 15:26 Very nice! Good use of the backlighting for this last stage of the bloom. Nice details, textures and color. Good job! Comments by Gerry Vrbensky on Fri, 02/11/11 21:56 Simple but nice. Excellent photo. Comments by Dan Rubin on Fri, 02/11/11 23:38 Lovely translucency, details and color. I'm curious as to your setup; did you just place the blossom in front of a snowdrift or use a more elaborate lighting scheme? Comments by Linda Frey on Sat, 02/12/11 00:55 Not too elaborate. Just tissue paper on the window as a background, and sunlight coming through on the side to light up the petals.

Comments by Tony Scheuhammer on Sat, 02/12/11 13:03 Nice! I have these too; it's funny, yours seem to die and dry with a completely different look than mine. I wonder why? Comments by Maria Salvador on Sun, 02/13/11 02:15 Beautiful. Love the translucency of the petals and the gradation of tonalities.
