Families of Eider ducks move across the bay

On a morning drive I came across this scene which reminded me somehow of the Lord of the Rings - for whatever reason...

I like the sense of layering in this image created by the ducks, the headland and the distant mountains, the toning of the image (especially when set against a black background color) and the inclusion of the Eider ducks which works to create a flow in the image leading the eyes of the viewer from the left edge to the right edge.

There was also a passing heron.. a slightly "redder" version

A real pleasure to look at. I like the Heron going against the current. Take a look at them in
B&W.

Love it! Beautiful peaks, layers, and the muted tones are pretty.

I prefer the OP version - love the misty mountain feel to the image.

Neat shot. I've not seen multiple families of ducks like that before.

I don't know Lord of the Rings, much, but I'd guess it's the mountains that give it that feeling.
