I love the cedars in the dark forest. Emily Carr painted them so well.

The darkness of the deep dark woods is so mysterious. The picture works best for me when set against a grey background. This image reminds of living on the West Coast (the trees of Stanley Park and the woods of the northern end of Vancouver Island for me).

That is such a beautiful green!

So moody, almost ghostlike, but verdant and intense, I like the composition with the strong branch in the foreground, and the other trees in the background. Very nicely done!

Very nice, Linda. You've captured the feel of the woods very well.

Deep dark woods and a little bit of light on the green moss -- quite effective.
Personally I prefer it against black, and would also suggest a slight crop down the right maybe just to the notch on the lower of the two main green branches, with a commensurate crop from the bottom to maintain the ratio. -- This would bring the main trunk just a little more off centre whilst retaining the green

Very nice, Linda. You captured the shadlwy darkness of the woods, while also capturing the essence and detail of the cedar. (I can almost smell it.) I love the deep, dark subtle red color of the tree. The lighting was perfect to reveal the neon green glow of the moss. The photo has a dreamlike quality to me... as if it were taken from the pages of a fairy tale. I feel like the tree is watching me... (see the eye on the left side of the trunk about a third of the way down. The other eye is hidden by the protruding branch). It is a friendly tree, though.

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep"

And so is this image of them. Nicely done!

Linda,
It's like the tree has a face. Very nice. Reminds me of the talking trees in the Harry Potter movies! :-)

I like the deep rich tones of the bark and the way the green glows from the branches. This could not have been easy to shoot.

I don't think you could have done anything better! How wonderfully rich and mysterious it is..love that light green moss on the grapevine, or that may be the trees branches...sorry, but I still love it! ;0)
