Both are beautiful shots. They look so strange in flight. I am always looking for owls around here, but can never find them.

Both are excellent but if I had to choose it would be the second. The owl has space to
fly into vs kind of cramped in the vertical.

I like the two images with their two views of the owl's wings... the pearl color on the underside of the wings and the almost shell-like quality of the top of the wings. The contrast between the owl and the diffused feel of the background in both images creates a 3D feel in both images but especially in the picture in the comment section.

Superb catches of the snow owl in light... :)
Also the background is magnificent.

Lovely barn owl. I prefer the second image...just more natural. The eye seem very dark...I wondered if opening up the shadows more will bring a bit more catchlight in the eye? Good catch though!;-)

I like them both. Nicely done, Les.

David Leahy? Haven't seen your name in years! Lots of great photos attached to it.

Both very nice, no way to prefer one or another.

Very nice. These guys like to fly in low-light, so you did good to get them with such good color.
