Girl with Red Hair

For those who wish for technical details, this composition is 'as shot' then treated with a touch of "Smooth and Flat" in Topaz Adjust. This softened the skin tones, hair and background and I then used a layer mask to bring back definition in the eyes, lashes and lips.

I particularly like the eye contact that is achieved between the young lady and the viewer... one feels as if they are sharing a conversation with her. I find that contrast between the young lady and the more darkened nature of the background serves to make her stand out strongly in the image.

A very well done portrait John. The applied effect is very interesting...soft and dreamy.;-)
