And we flounder about in the snow up here in the Northern Hemisphere with our sun not having the strength to melt the snow. I like the colors here of the grain and sky (a black background page color really enhances those colors) and the perspective with the slope of the hill leading the eyes of the viewer through the grain field to the crest of the hill and what lies beyond (one has the feel of a reclining human figure).

thanks, Jan

not grain growing country in these parts but the grasses give that appearance

one of my favourite landscapes that I don't see so often now that the new Awatere Bridge is no longer new

So, any excuse for a lunch break here, when travelling south :)

through the windscreen

still in the Awatere

an unusually wet spring has filled the water storage dams

grassland giving way to grapes

Both are lovely, very 'Rosina' images!

I'm curious about the name 'Awatere'. What's the origin? Of course I van google it, but you probably know much better.
: )

Great golden landscape!

Very luxurious, resembles the back of a golden retriever. Nice one Rosina.

Richard sees what I see...something furry. Really great Rosina. I love those subtle 'undulations' going diagnally up from the bottom to the right.

I like the subtle colours and shapes of the OP. I do wish that black thingummy at left wasnt there poking out of the grass to distract me.

Love the OP, Rosina. It could be here, except that we wouldn't have such a nice, even field of grasses.

appreciate your comments, everyone :)

els: I had to google "awatere" -
'awatere river" = fast flowing river, it seems
the one that runs through this valley

Rory: have removed the thistle - I now like it better without it

Great job, Rosina, I actually prefer it with that small green tree or bush in your original version, makes it more interesting.

Monique: if I was into running, I would , too :)

Steve: some days I like the thistle: some days not :)

thanks to you both

Although the thistle is the finest plant ever made,
(as any Scot will tell ye ;-)
I think I prefer this beautiful, flowing image without it.

The OP is wonderful, soft and sensual - without the thistle for me.
