Human Skull

I went to a street festival yesterday, mostly to tag along
with my grand kids. After taking pictures of them in face
paint, I pretty much put my camera on my shoulder. Until I saw
this fellow, the make up was very well done. He never blinked.
I changed the back ground for more impact.

I realize the stud is hiding the left eye.

Eerily eye catching... I wonder how many hours it took to complete his make up?

It seems this is not make-up but tattoos, he is an actor. Recent movie
47 Ronin with Keanu Reeves.

Is this the real Rick Genest(real tattoos) or someone with facepaint to
look like him?

Posted my comment while yours was incoming. Guess I have my answer.

Being tattoos rather than face painting heightens the eerie feel of your image.

Those are cockroaches running around on his neck and head, which represents the "unclean."

The horn symbolism on his chest indicate an allegiance to the devil.

The visible teeth and cervical bones depict death.

The black mask identifies power, the supernatural, and evil.

The suit coat represents mainstream respectability/infiltration.

It's no laughing matter that this sort of thing is admired.

The Christian version of the supernatural makes for a perfect backdrop. Well-done!

Thank you all for commenting. Michael, I agree with you, nothing about
this model represents life. I did not know what those symbols on his
chest meant thanks for the explanation.
First impression when you see the tattoos is 'can't be real has to be
make up' my 2nd thought was 'how can you do that to yourself. He
projects a sinister aurora which can never be confused with trust or
safety. He is in his early 20s it's one heck of a commitment.
I used the ceiling of a church as a background, it fit.

Well-captured. I like the background you chose.

Beyond the tattoos, he looks like a handsome guy with nice features. No turning back, though. I wonder how he'll cope as he ages? Life as an oddity can not always be pleasant.
