A pleasing pastoral view created by the combination of the wispy clouds and the greenery of the solitary tree at the edge of field of corn. The solitary tree evokes a sense of determination and strength for me.

The delicate organic cloud forms make this comp. Your choice of a subtle palette has produced a surreal quality to it that is comfortable to the eye. I'm curious, how large would you make a print of this image suitable for framing?

I'm not sure about this specific image but I do go as large as 40
inches, but rarely. My default size for limited edition prints at
galleries is 6.75x24. But most of my work is produced to 2.8x10 and
4x15.5 as open edition prints or 2x7 for cards.

I expect this would be good in monochrome, too.

I thought about that Rory but decided I liked the colour palette.

Lovely shot, Ernest. So simple and the crop works very well.

Very nice. I like the title too. A little ominous.

The mares' tails, the edge (Children) of the corn, the single tree, the empty feeling all contribute to it being "a little ominous."

Beautiful! Love the curve of the land and the placement of the tree. Wonderfully wispy sky.

Looks like you combed those clouds with the corn stalks.
