Another Place

"Another Place" is the official title for the Installation at Crosby Beach of 100 cast iron figures by Anthony Gormley. You may have seen many pictures of them in the past 10 years, but this was the first time I had been there (last Saturday!) - and the tide was in !!! The coach could only stay for an hour, so we couldn't wait to see the second and third rows of figures. I took about 20 pictures from this same viewpoint - and at the moment this is my favourite. I like your perspective on this image with the contrast between the foreground statue (almost thought it was a bather watching the distant wind turbines) and the white turbines... creates a strangely sci-fi feel for your composition.

Interesting and somewhat compelling idea - good capture John!

If it had a brain it would be thinking how ridiculous those windmills are. Uneconomic, kill vast numbers of birds, and look like the devil.

A photo that tells a story very well. Makes the viewer think about these things.
