Halifax At Night

Nikon D7000 ISO400, f/25, 30sec

I took this photo of Halifax with a 30sec exposure. The swirl of colors in the photo are the lights of the ferry boat as it's coming in to
Alderney land in Dartmouth. It's amazing that the actual ferry boat is not visible.

This is also Halifax. The effect that you may notice is 2 of everything. It's most evident if you you look at the yellow and green reflection.
Total exposure was 30 seconds of which the first 15 seconds the focal length was 46mm then quickly zoom in to 60mm for the last 15 seconds. I
tried another photo in reverse order but it just didn't come out the same. Hope you like the effects, comments welcome.

Thanks for explaining the swirl of colors....like an underwater
fireworks display.

I had thought on opening the picture that it was a seaplane landing in the harbour... with no ferry visible the visible swirl of colors has the feel of an aeroplane.

Interesting treatment with the second image populating the shoreline of Halifax with so many more buildings.
