The path is a great leadin.

I would agree with Dale that path serves to lead the viewer deep into the image. I like the manner in which you captured the sunlight highlighting the arch with the resulting strong contrast between that of the arch and the barren darkened tree on the left. I would not normally agree with so much empty blue sky but in this case that emptiness adds to the sense of vastness of the setting. Maybe just my inclination but there is a painterly feel to the image which I like.

Itís been a long time since I was in Moab for a workshop and photographed this arch.
And nothing to brag about. For the most part I like your composition. If I was there and
faced with this featureless blue sky Iíd try to minimize it as much as possible. Itís almost
half the frame. Without the tree in the way the sky could get a good chop. You do good
work so I hope to see more. Went on a long walk last Tues. in Snow Canyon. Took the
West Canyon dirt road which I had never been on before.
