Wood Duck

Wood Ducks. The male is the colorful one. They can perch in
trees, supposedly the only duck to be able to do that.

Female Wood Duck

I like the op image with the male Wood Duck in its heads down viewpoint parodying a charging bull. The contrast between the duck and its surroundings creates the illusion of forward movement adding to the sense of a charging bull, for me. The detailing with the female Wood Duck is eye catching.

I had never seen ducks perching in trees until I happened upon some Wood Ducks doing just that but I never realized they were the only ducks to be able to do that.

Thanks Jan, I've seen Mallard balancing on a large round frame of a
wire fence. These guys fly from the water onto tree branches.
