A striking shot of color after a long white winter. A grey background works well to enhance the detailing to be found in the image while at the same time complementing the colors of the picture.

Hi there Ruth. The colours really pop. You seem to have missed a spot in
the processing in the middle just over the stem. The flower has a pasted
in feel to it.

What a lovely orchid. The colors are nice and good placement of the bloom on the log but I agree with Ernest about the processing though...;-)

Oops, Ernest thanks for noticing that. The lighter BG area was blurred to reduce sunlit distractions, and I missed that area. The flower was not pasted; it was there, and closer to the camera.

Splendid orchid, Ruth... :)
So colorful. A rare beauty.

Haven't seen your work in a while Ruth... still looking mighty fine. I would try the Orton effect on this one just to see what it might do. But that's me. Rarely shoot a straight shot.

Beautiful orchid, Ruth. It stands out nicely with your treatment.

Hi Ruth - good to see you back!
A very pleasing image of the flower set against the dark background of the tree-trunk. I feel the gtreen leaves on the left are an important part of your picture.
