The contrast between the lightness of the skeleton and the surrounding darkness, the pose of the skeleton on the tree, and the light highlighting the skull works to bring a lifelike feel to the remains.

Thank you for your feedback. It is a skeleton of a small monkey. I took it at the Universtity of Malta science faculty.

A top tier image. Classy and rich. Comments were entertaining even if less classy. I was thinking about the Sony digicams that were supposed to 'see through clothes'. ;-)
