Jonah is my very sensitive middle child. After a week of wedding craziness in Charleston,
late nights, and not a lot of "mom" time, Jonah was having a bit of a tough time.

Before we arrived in Charleston, I had it in my head that I wanted to get a wall-worthy shot
of my three kids on the joggling board at Bob's parents' house. But after a few minutes of
trying, it was obvious that Jonah just wasn't going to get into the group spirit.

It was a really memorable moment when I sent the other kids off to play and took a few
quiet moments alone with Jonah. Just a couple of minutes of one-on-one attention
brought out the most amazing, glowing expression. It's rare to get an image of the real,
unguarded Jonah, so this frame is as special to me as the moment that produced it.

From a technical standpoint it has alot of flaws IMO, however, your last sentence sums it up so the technical issues have no merit.

yep
don't even see flaws

LOL, Jeff.... king of the back-handed compliment. ;)

From my point of view, I would have preferred not to touch the end of the joggling board on
the frame. The only other 'technical issues' are some bright highlights, which are a scanning
issue.

I had no idea what a "joggling board" was, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. For others who my wonder, here you go (Cheryl, please forgive my presumptuousness). Wonderful photo, btw, as always:

A joggling board is a long, pliable board that is supported on each end by wooden stands. The board is springy and a person sitting on it can easily bounce up and down. It originated in the Low Country of South Carolina around Charleston in the early 1800s and was often used by children or couples in love. The male and female would sit at opposite ends of the board and "joggle" up and down. Because the board slopes in the middle, the couple would bounce towards each other and eventually meet in the middle. Smooching would ensue. Traditionally, it is painted black, or Charleston Green. The joggling board's popularity has slowly been coming back, mostly as decorations on lawns and front porches.
