Sailing

Hi all - I'm posting this for my friend Lainie who really would like to join the site but isn't receiving a reply to from the membership page nor her e-mails. So I'm gonna help her out and post this for her. Hope you guys don't mind. As soon as she can join she'd like to become a regular.

Here are her techs

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Lens: EF75 300 mm f/4-4.6 USM
ISO speed 200
Shot using the auto mode

This picture was taken while on vacation in Florida this spring. My goal was to catch the parasailers between the sailboat sail lines as they came over the boat. I smile every time I see it!

Remarkable indeed...
A good picture, well framed with the mast in diagonal
/
Remarquable en effet...
Une bonne image, bien encadrée avec le mât dans diagonale
/
Straordinario davvero...
Una buona immagine, bene inquadrata con l'albero in diagonale

Sorry to hear about your problems joining. I hope this isn't putting off other people.

You achieved your goal. It's a fun photo although a bit hard to see what is going on due to the size constraints of the site.

Flip the image and the sense of the human face on the parachute of the paragliders is heightened. A black background suits this image.

Made me smile, too, Lainie. ;0) Hope you get to join soon!

Good for you to have the timing to get the shot that you wanted. Those parasailers look like little insects. ;-)

I think it could use a little more saturation, as the blues are dull, and the yellow parachute could be more yellow (I'm guessing. Maybe it was a dull yellow).

Your photo is posted at only 33 kb (it may have been larger, but was compressed by the program). Your post can be 200 kb. Less likely to have compression artifacts if it is closer to 200.

Hope you can join soon. I like this. It makes me smile with its interesting juxtaposition of the kite and (my guess) the mast of a sail.

Sailing in the sky too... Nicely framed.
