The golden hues of the weeds work particularly well with a black background page color. A good sense of texturing here especially from the foreground snow covered weeds while the contrast between the foreground and background plants creates a sense of depth in the picture (the quality of the light helps to enhance that sense of depth for me).

A rather beautiful colour palette in this photograph!

I can see how this would catch one's eye but often what catches the eye doesn't work out as a photograph. IMO this doesn't work out. Just one of Mother Nature's messes and she doesn't give a hoot about photographers.

Sometimes messes are appealing, at least to some of us. Those reddish grasses are especially nice.

Did you try any. Thoughs are country snow cones, you know :-)

I have some sympathy with Jeff's comments, but sometimes "mess" is what you want. I think it would be enhanced with a focal point, though.

I like the red in the background grasses.

I think there's some potential here, but maybe the lighting angle, and amount of light, is pulling it back some. Maybe with softer lighting conditions there could be more emphasis on the "snow capped" aspect (?)

I like the riotous tangle of growth here, with depth provided by high contrast. Also appealing are its apparent spontaneity and the attachment you seem to have with the land.

:-) Earth colors at their best - as I see it on my monitor. A lovely and appealing 'mess'!
