For the past five years I have been hanging work at a local restaurant. In the spring they especially like to have a lot of fresh colour in the restaurant. This is part of the series I am currently developing to hang later this month.

Simple, elegant composition but I find the horizontal (and diagonal) stripes distracting.

Strong presentation with a black background color working to make the flower stand out strongly but as with Trevor I find the horizontal stripes somewhat distracting (makes me think of overexposed window blinds).

I am leaning to what Trevor said, though I am not quite sure. I like the broad shadow/stripe which cuts through the flower, and I like the texture provided by the horizontal streaking, but I keep straining to see the image behind.

Very nice, everything about it. It's a tulip on the move.

Love the colors and the sense of fragility given by the treatment - the horizontal bands have been growing on me from the first time I saw it...:-)
