Walk along the Rhinefront

This place used to be a toll station on the river Rhine, from sometime in the 14th century until late Middle Ages. It is walled and today a few hundred yards from the river...

I find that lightening the image with shadow/highlight helps to bring out more of the detailing and enhance the sunlight highlighting the immediate foreground of the setting while at the same time allowing the distant structures to remain in silhouette. I find myself wanting to crop from the left edge to nearly the two people walking along the pathway.

Hmm, might be an idea, didn't like the thingy there either...

It's a very nice scenery....but I have to agree with Jan comments. Beautiful country though.
