Shot 9/2007 in Victoria, BC. Shot with a Canon Digital Rebel
with a 70 - 300 mm lens. I shot it deliberately to look more
abstract. I enjoyed the contrasts.

If this is the type of photography you frequently do then I hope you've invested in a tripod
since '07 or if you already have one collecting dust in a closet by all means dig it out. It's an
interesting plant with some nice backlight but I can't find any part of it that's sharp.

I might have cropped down in the image so that the background is all red (without the black bit on top) and there is a striking contrast between the green/black leaf and the reddish hue in the background all through the vertical length of the picture. Sharper, as Jeff says, would be better but the abstractive feel of the image is pleasing for me with the caterpillar feel I get from the green/black leaf.

I like the abstract feel of the photography, the colors are beautiful.

great potential - the lack of sharpness is definitely holding it back
